Private Lesson – Terms & Conditions

Salsa Latina Dance Academy – Christchurch, New Zealand

1. Bookings & Confirmations

• All private lessons are subject to teacher availability.

• All bookings must be initiated through the official Salsa Latina private lesson booking form.

• Once the form is submitted, the selected teacher will contact the student directly to arrange a suitable date and time.

• Students must confirm their appointment directly with their teacher.

• A suggested or requested date and time does not constitute a confirmed booking.

• A lesson is only officially booked once both the student and teacher have agreed on the date and time, and the $15 booking fee has been paid.

• Students must not attend the studio without receiving confirmation of their appointment from their teacher.

• Submitting the booking form or paying the booking fee does not automatically secure an appointment.

2. Booking Fees & Payments

• A $15 booking fee is required to secure each private lesson.

• The booking fee should be paid once the lesson date and time have been agreed upon with the teacher.

• The $15 booking fee is deducted from the total lesson price.

• The remaining lesson fee is paid directly to the teacher by the student.

• Teachers and students arrange their preferred payment method directly (cash, bank transfer, etc.).

• International and online private lessons may have different payment arrangements.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Students must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a confirmed lesson.

• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may result in forfeiture of the $15 booking fee.

• Failure to attend a confirmed lesson without notice is considered a no-show and may result in forfeiture of the booking fee.

• Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance are eligible for a refund of the booking fee or transfer to another available appointment.

• If a teacher needs to cancel a confirmed lesson, students will be offered an alternative appointment or a refund of their booking fee.

• Refunds and cancellations remain subject to applicable New Zealand consumer law.

4. Communication & Responsibilities

• Students are responsible for providing accurate contact information when submitting the booking form.

• Teachers will contact students using the details supplied.

• Students are responsible for responding to their teacher and confirming their appointment.

• If a student does not respond to a proposed appointment, the lesson remains unconfirmed and the teacher is not required to reserve that time.

• Students should check their email, including spam or junk folders, and ensure they can receive messages from their teacher.

• If communication difficulties occur, students should contact Salsa Latina before attending the studio.

• Salsa Latina is not responsible for misunderstandings resulting from unconfirmed appointments, except where otherwise required by law.

5. Studio Use

• All in-person private lessons take place at Salsa Latina Studio unless an alternative location has been agreed upon.

• No additional studio hire fee applies to standard private lessons conducted at Salsa Latina Studio.

• Studio availability must be confirmed by the teacher before an appointment is finalised.

• Students should arrive on time for their confirmed appointment.

• Late arrivals may result in reduced lesson time.

6. Teacher Responsibilities

• Teachers must communicate directly with students to arrange and confirm private lessons.

• Teachers must clearly confirm the agreed date, time and location before the appointment.

• Teachers must ensure the $15 booking fee has been paid before conducting a lesson.

• All private lessons must be registered through Salsa Latina's official booking system.

• Failure by teachers to follow the required booking procedures may result in removal from the Salsa Latina private lessons programme.

7. General Conditions

• Private lesson availability, teachers and pricing may change.

• Salsa Latina reserves the right to assign an alternative teacher where necessary, subject to the student's agreement.

• Students are expected to follow Salsa Latina's studio rules and code of conduct.

• Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights or remedies available under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable legislation.
